The incredible exhibitors at Moved 2023

There were so many incredible faces at Moved this year, featuring their work. Let’s meet them:

Workshops

This year, some of the exhibitors put on workshops, allowing you to have a go at their techniques and practices.

These workshops included: Batik Artwork

Collage Walk & Draw

Calligraphy

Moved workshop

My partner and I joined the Batik workshop. This was a calming and therapeutic technique using inks to dye the fabric. Shirlyn supplied us with all of the tools to create our own Batik piece while talking about the long history of this beautiful practice. She marked the outlines with wax for us to follow. The three pieces were The Bull, Botanical Gardens and the Birmingham Canal. I chose the Botanical Gardens piece and this is how it turned out.

I loved this workshop and felt extremely calm and inspired throughout and after. Shirlyn has multiple workshops throughout Birmingham for you to learn along with her, check out their workshop dates here.
